Rok Sushi Kitchen - Hermosa Beach

Service was great. Some issues with ordering were solved efficiently. Sushi was good, not outstanding, but then we didn’t try the specials. Music a bit too loud. Apart from that, great ambiance!

Food- Most items were good but nothing special Service- There about 3 hours because of how slow service was. I know it’s a Friday night, but sheesh, hire more servers potentially. The manager was working hard, but it seemed everyone else on the floor was brand new. Value- Here’s my main issue. Despite the terrible service, they sneak in a 20% gratuity on your bill. I saw on the menu it says 5 people or more would be 18%, but the group of 3 we were, was sacked with a 20% mandatory gratuity… The nerve… I won’t go back when tip should always be adjustable by the patron.

Food was good, but Caleb our server, made the experience amazing! He was personable, high energy and attentive. He even noticed the detail on the reservation that it was my 50th birthday. He ended our evening with a yummy banana tempura ice cream dessert. He needs to be duplicated! :
