Red Nectar - Helensburgh

What a gem of a discovery! Having eaten at fine restaurants all over Australia, we found Red Nectar was right up there in terms of quality, at half the price. Diverse menu, excellently prepared meals, lovely service, an all-round terrific experience (except when you first...arrive you'll be faced with an unimpressive entrance, so resist the urge to turn around and you'll thank yourself). The kitchen is fully open to viewing. And the chef, Daniel, is more than happy to come out of the kitchen, including to explain his fine selection of whiskys and spirits.

My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at Red Nectar and chose the Chefs Table Package. I could not recommend this highly enough!! 7 course meal with matching wines, The chef (Daniel) adds a personal touch by explaining each dish and the matching wine, you...are seated near the kitchen so you get to watch and experience a hands on evening. Every dish is beautifully presented, portion sizes were perfect and each dish incredible! This was such an intimate and special evening for us, it would also be fabulous to enjoy with a couple of friends! Highly recommend!

Food is impeccable, service is next level. Highly recommended. This is a high quality restaurant where everything was absolutely perfect. We have very high standards of food and were very pleased with our dining experience. Thank you!

Just returned to Red Nectar after COVID 19 isolation and pleased to report that this excellent restaurant has stepped up a notch with a new menu and an excellent wine list. Close your eyes and you could be in France. The care to detail, freshness...and flavour is meticulous. I enjoyed the wonderful seared Kingfish entree, the Brie and pumpkin filled chicken with steamed asparagus and the outstanding Apple and rhubarb tarte tatin.The service is impeccable and Chef Daniel is a consummate professional. Red Nectar is a gem of the Illawarra.

A little bit of 'fine dining ' in Helensburgh. The menu changes regularly and the food is always delicious. They also have a great selection of wines. Highly recommend if you 're looking for a special night out.
