Better than in Germany! We heard from locals that Old Heidelberg has new owners, so we decided to give it a try – and we’re so glad we did. The place has been completely renovated, the menu is impressive, and the staff is outstanding. The German owner did a fantastic job with the decor. Most of the employees speak both German and English, and the pub downstairs feels just like an authentic German pub. We had an amazing time! The music was great, and they offer over 50 different beers and wines from around the world. We really don’t need to travel to Germany anymore… Once again, new owners, we’ll be back soon!

The service, provided by a woman and a man in jogging pants, was abysmal. The food was disappointing at best. The sauerkraut was served cold, and the mixed greens came with sauerkraut, which is quite unusual for Germany. To make matters worse, our Coke was served in plastic cups, and the coffee was in those cheap 50-cent cups. As for the so-called Black Forest cake, it tasted like it had been sitting around for weeks; they simply topped it with canned whipped cream to disguise the yellowish filling. The waiter’s jogging pants left little to the imagination, which was unprofessional. Overall, the prices here are far too high for what you get; you can’t even get a proper glass for your beer. I strongly advise you to avoid this place. The food's freshness is questionable, and it was a significant letdown.
