Callister's Country Kitchen

First, there were three of us at our party and we were seated promptly. However, it took about 15 minutes for us to be able to place our order (despite the restaurant not being busy with many empty tables), and another ten minutes after ordering for our drinks to arrive. After what felt like a long wait, our food finally arrived. I had ordered the meatloaf, but when it was placed in front of me, it looked unappetizing - thin, dark, and dry. I informed the waitress that I couldn't eat it, and she offered to bring me something else. Since my companions had already received their meals, I asked for something quick and settled on a turkey dinner. Unfortunately, the turkey meal was also disappointing - overcooked turkey, bland stuffing, and canned cranberry sauce. I couldn't finish it and was surprised to receive a bill for $16.00 without any offer of dessert or coffee. My friend paid the bill to avoid causing a scene, but I couldn't resist asking the waitress why she would serve a subpar meal. She explained that if she didn't serve it, nobody would get their meals.

The meal was superb! We were in a rush, so my partner arrived about 20 minutes before we did. He ordered for us and when we arrived they brought our lunch out. We all had eggs Benny as it is yummy! They always have good ham, the eggs were cooked to perfection and the meal was hot! The waitresses there are lovely, always smiling and making you feel welcome. Homemade cinnamon buns tempt you at the register on the way out. (the cinnamon buns are yummy too!)

Have visited here several times since it opened, been a great place for breakfast any time of day. However after our last visit, we won't be back. Food was mediocre and overpriced and we were unlucky enough to be seated next to a staff member who spoke very loudly about the addition going on the building--exactly how much it was going to cost, how much business it was going to bring in, and basically how they were going to roll in their money once it was up and running- just a totally inappropriate conversation to be having in the dining room where customers could hear you.

This place is EPIC! _All four of us cleared our plates and had some home made deserts. Delicious : )

Went on a recommendation from a local and was so happy that we did! Clean, reasonable prices and home cooked meals! Would definitely go back.
