Gasthof Schauhuber

Took a detour from Danube bike ride and glad we did. 1km from velo 6. Great traditional food. Good price friendly service

Stayed for one night with family. Regretted not to be able to get 2 attached rooms for parents and children. Owners were very friendly, rooms clean and breakfast ok.

The service was excellent and the staff was attentive and very friendly. We were four adults and each of us had a different main course. Every dish was well prepared and tasty. The meals were large enough that even though the desserts look really good we were to full to try them. The owner came by the table during our meal to make sure everything was ok and then stopped us on the way out to speak with us again, over all what great personnel service. We ate in the beer garden and the atmosphere was peacefull and welcoming

We stopped at the National Park Visitors Center across the road and came out hungry for fish, which is in plentiful supply in Orth an der Donau. We peeked into the garden at Gathof Schauhuber and decided we had to try it out. The setting was lovely, casual and quiet. The food was superb. We weren't quite sure what we were ordering since this is a "German-only" kind of place, but I don't think it would have mattered. They know how to cook fish and serve it hot. I will remember that piece of perch for a long time.
