Bhimgoda Barrage - Haridwar

The barrage play the important role a.m. diverting river Ganga water in different channels more hour. It also slows down the current of the great river Ganga Lord Shiva statue is installed here near the gates of the barrage is one of the oldest mechanical scripture of the city in monsoon season. All the gates are open to let water out.

Bhimgoda Tank is a sacred water tank situated near Birla Ghat in Haridwar. The tank is named after Bhima one of the five Pandava brothers. The tank is refurbished with the water of the Ganges and is surrounded by well groomed lush gardens. The locale is also beautified with water fountains and flower beds and hence is a popular tourist spot.

Bhimgoda barrage is popular for it's ancient mahabharat mythology where pandu son Bhim drain water by his feet to hit the ground.

Now this is the real Geographical feature to actually explore...really nice place to visit...u can see mansa devi mandir, chandi devi, barrage, ghats orientation, main course of Ganga river etc. at one place. The complete topography of Haridwar can be seen over there...that is the beauty of this place.

Irrigation barrage diverts water to Upper Ganga Canal to irrigate the command area in the districts of Western and Central Uttar Pradesh upto Kanpur and Allahabad. A significant amount of water is diversted from here to the canal.
