Bidra med feedbackUnpretentious spot for a hearty Donair. There's seating inside and outside. Ordered the regular and, although the sauce was a bit too sweet for my personal taste, the beef was excellent. Really friendly staff too. Would recommend if you're in the area!
We ordered a large donair wrap and large donair sub. We then drove to Peggy's Cove, where it was still warm!, to have it for brunch. Let me tell you, these were freaking amazing. My toddler son also enjoyed the meat too! Generous portions. I wished we had visited this place more often before our trip ended . In our opinion, the sub was a tad better as it was able to soak the sauce nicely without falling apart. These guys know what they are doing and were very friendly! The decor on the ceiling and walls are also fun to read while you wait. We still think fondly of the food even months apart. So far nothing like you back in Ontario .
A Halifax classic. Although the shop is kind of dumpy and the service is mediocre, but it is all part of the charm. The donairs are totally worth it! Pictures of visiting celebrity wrestlers on the wall. Best to get take out.
I ordered a medium garlic fingers and it was delicious, hot cheesy. Staff seem a bit preoccupied, they didn't bother to look at me or reply when I said thank you and took my food. It was a bit cold inside with the door open at 0 degree weather, so I took my food to go.
If you have never experienced a Halifax donair, you're missing out and King of donair is a fantastic dive take-out joint to buy one. This place makes a fantastic donair at a reasonable price. The medium was much more than I could eat. The sauce is a bit sweet but goes really well with the donair meat just didn't taste great on fries. This place is famous for their donairs. So much so that Anthony Bourdain was there in 2014 filming one of his shows. You go for the food not the atmosphere
