Rose & Crown - Guildford

We often visited the rose and the crown. Food is consistently excellent. The staff is friendly. Unfortunately, this night was missing in terms of a long delay between ordering and receiving drinks, yes, but really long for food.

We love the Rose Crown and have been feeding there for over 11 years. Unfortunately, last night we took my 85-year-old mother for Valentine's Day dinner. Our booking was for 7.30, we ordered our meal, our duck came within 15 minutes and then we had to wait for our main meal for over an hour. No staff came to advise about any problems, and once we asked where our meals were, we were told that the kitchen 'painted' tonight?? After all, our meal arrived, but unfortunately our appetites had disappeared. I found it very disappointing that the staff did not even try to please us with a meaningful explanation why, not even the proposal of a free drink and when we went to pay, we explained that we were disappointed by the wait, no offer of a discount or a real excuse or explanation. Come on, R C, it was Valentine's Day, you should have been over it!! Apart from that, the live music was great and of course the ambience was fabulous as always!

I and my partner went to Rose and Crown for dinner for Valentine's Day. We sat in the beer garden, which was beautifully decorated. The staff was nice, the service was great and the food was amazing. Very recommended!

I know it was a very busy night, V day, but it did take approx 1 hour for the main food order to arrive. The entre and drinks orders arrived within an acceptable

Fantastic service, the staff were amazing. It was a busy night full Valentines House and despite some orders taking longer than normal, the staff made up for it. The food was reasonable too. Great location and I would suggest a visit and meal.
