Willies Crawfish - Groves

Willie’s Grill and Icehouse We went to lunch here on a Friday around noon. The restaurant was busy, but we still had plenty of tables to choose from. After placing our order at the entrance line, we made our way to a nearby table. Our server was quick to greet us and confirm our orders. My order of fried catfish with french fries arrived piping hot. The fish was cooked just right and the fries were very tasty. Service was excellent and atmosphere was friendly and inviting.

We arrived in town late, hungry and tired. It was a half hour before closing and the employees couldn’t have been more welcoming. We tried to apologize for being so late but the staff would hear of it. Vivian helped us with dinner and drink choices and Joel was very friendly and accommodating. The food was very satisfying but we couldn’t get over the Texas hospitality! It has been my experience that when you show up late the employees can be less then friendly, but not at Willies.

Walked in and only had 1 person taking orders then closed the line and said they would not be taking orders because kitchen was backed up. Horrible service. They have waitresses And waiters and can’t take an order! But yet they are taking take out orders one after another one. What about the customers coming inside your restaurant?

I ordered the beef brisket loaded potato Andy wife had a chicken taco salad. The bbq was bland, I missed the smokey flavor and tanginess of Texas bbq. It just tasted fatty. My wife's salad was served over tortilla chips that were rancid and tasted of d old.

We have been here many times and the food is decent, not great but for a chicken sandwich and beer it will do. What irked me today was I went to use restroom upon arrival and there was no soap in restroom so I went to manager and she said she would take care of it. Well, 45 minutes later another one of us went and still no soap. We called her to our table and she blamed it on an employee. So for 45 minutes or longer employees are using restroom and not washing hands. That’s unacceptable!!
