Chocolate Cafe - Grindelwald

Review for take-away coffee only SERVICE: 3.5/5 Lovely family feel and they were good with our kids. We were happy to support such a lovely business. COFFEE: 3.5/5 Better than I expected! Probably should've had a hot chocolate here but I must say their coffees were enjoyable too. We were talking to an older couple while they waited for their order to arrive. The scones that hit their table looked amazing! We would've loved to have come back to try them but we are early risers and the cafe didn't open until 9:30am/10am. DECOR AMBIENCE: 3.5/5 It felt like we were visiting nan's place for a hot cuppa and some baked goodies. The cushion seats by the window were a lovely touch and great use of space. Only a couple of tables inside and similar amount outside but cosy and comfortable nonetheless. KID FRIENDLY: Yes, kids can sit by the window to enjoy their treat or if you have a pram and prefer alfresco, there are a few cute tables outside to soak up the sun.

The food is ok here (I had pancakes and scones) but it's not food for which you go there. A few kilometres outside Launceston and you get a flavour of Switzerland in Grinderwald! This village is a place not to be missed, and to keep your tummy happy, one of the better options around is the Chocolate cafe!

The lady served us was very unfriendly no smile at all. There was no service. It was like, what do you want? $8.20. She looked so uninterested. The hot chocolate tasted very average. It was not busy but dirty dishes were left on the table. A customer had to take them to the counter as he wanted to sit at the table. I will never go again!
