Great little out of the way place to eat in Griffin.

Small little diner with great food and fast service! Just what we were looking for! We showed up with 13 people and were in and out within 30 min. Good portions

Just off I-64 at the New Harmony, IN exit, turn right from the Indiana side or left from the Illinois side at the stop sign and the Depot Diner is just up ahead on the right in Griffin, IN.This was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised with the menu and had a hard time choosing what to try first.My boyfriend and I both got the breaded tenderloin, because that's always a go-to for us to try at any restaurant if we can't make up our minds. He got the seasoned fries and I splurged for the fried mushrooms. I got 18 mushrooms with my order!The server was super nice and attentive. She kept our quart-size glass canning jars full of Coca-Cola and it was a good Coca-Cola. Not watered down like some places. It had a bite! Just the way I like it.Our food was fresh, hot and there was plenty of it. I made 2 meals out of mine.We will definitely be visiting the Depot Diner again. Next time, I think I'll try the stromboli. My boyfriend said he thinks he'll try the breakfast menu, because the plates we saw around us looked amazing!

The food and atmosphere here was great fun. Be sure to be hungry as the portions are down home generous.
