Our server was excellent at ensuring the kitchen staff was aware of my vegan diet, and they adapted their Sacred Shiitake Pie to make it vegan for me. It was delicious! Additionally, she was incredibly friendly, and we really enjoyed our conversation with her. Overall, it’s a fantastic place, and we will definitely be coming back! I ordered a veggie pizza with vegan cheese, and it was excellent! Definitely worth it. This is an update to my previous review from September 5, 2021.
This is a fantastic pizza spot for families. We ordered takeout, and the pizza arrived warm and exactly as we requested. So many places get our orders mixed up, but not here. We tried the vegetarian pizza with vegan cheese, and it was deliciously subtle. Plus, our order was ready right on time.
Also, they use paper straws—make sure to ask for two if you're sipping slowly (God bless the sea turtles!). I ordered a Sunset Paradise cocktail, which was tasty. I was surprised to find that it had a salted rim (which turned out to be a mistake). My server quickly fixed it, but the replacement drink had a SALTY sugar rim and, unfortunately, a gnat floating in it! The pizza looked delicious, and from now on, I’ll stick to ordering thin crust at any other Mellow Mushroom, except this location. However, the service I received from Colin, who had three braids, was outstanding! I think three stars is a fair rating for this experience.
I gave this experience five stars primarily because my pizza was fantastic, my server was very nice, and the quality of the ingredients on my pizza was excellent. However, if I were to rate my overall experience, it would only be about two stars. The reason for this is that we waited an hour and 15 minutes for our pizza to arrive after placing our order. Food shouldn't take that long to reach the table. The restaurant was clearly short-staffed, and while everyone was working incredibly hard, I can’t place the blame on them. The responsibility falls on the manager for not having enough staff to meet customer needs. It was evident that they were overwhelmed. Despite this major issue, without it, I would have had a wonderful experience.
