I was at mr. chips a few times, it is a big fund simple unfussy place, fish nicely broken, crispy, but not greasy,big handcut chips..high recommend it

Unhappy it says best. our last visit was not great, but we gave it to take-out/covid problems, and decided to try again when din in was available. drove 30 minutes to get there, eagerly anticipate our meal of halibut and fry. the prices are...up, quality and fish portions are far below. perhaps it is the changes in the personal (just saw a familiar face,) but the pommes were overdue and had sat down one; even with gravy, ketchup and malt vinegar they were hard to spit with a fork. the proportions of fish were again unevenly thick; parts were so overcooked, the dough coating was insensitive, and they reduced the total fish share size. their only server (wednesday to dinner) was beaten, but still a good job made and their sense of humor preserved. Unfortunately, she had no time to clean and sanitate tables, chairs and condiment containers between customers. I assume that the owners and employees have heard of the pandemic that is still with us? it will be our last stop there unless we start to hear good again from local well known ones we trust.

Great food and service, I have tried several dishes people are great and eat very well recommended to everyone check it out

Our recent visit to the fish and chips restaurant we have been loyal to for many years left us disappointed. It seems that the quality of the food has declined, possibly due to the pandemic and the switch to take-out only. The fish pieces we ordered, which were supposed to be halibut, were disappointingly thin and lacking in flavor. It took a long time for our meals to be prepared, giving us the impression that the kitchen may not have been fully operational. We may consider giving them another chance when dine-in service resumes and if we start seeing positive reviews again, but for now, we are hesitant to return. This is not the standard we expect from this restaurant.
