Cafe Mamo - Grand Rapids

Mezcal cocktail is deliciously smokey. Walleye and chicken were absolutely phenomenal. I never knew grape ice cream existed. It is exquisite. Atmosphere is quaint and inviting. Tasteful choice in music. Will return for more.

This restaurant is truly the whole package a thoughtful curated wine selection, a limited, rotating and perfectly executed menu, and a pared down intimate atmosphere. Hands down the best restaurant in West Michigan.

Delicious food and top notch service. My glass was never empty. The chicken I ordered was possibly the best chicken I’ve ever eaten!

8/24/23 Another fantastic meal! Susan had the trout (head on) Fabulous! I had the spaghetti with tomatoesWe had appetizers of mozzarella and orange tomatoes as well as fresh porchetta.Cafe Mamo...Wow! A hidden gem and absolutely fabulous restaurant in Grand Rapids! Tiny, I mean tiny but wonderful. Started with Bresaola, and then the half chicken with garlic scape, on a baguette. Ended with a brown sugar, sea salt single scoop of ice cream. Their attention to detail and commitment to excellence is evident with the quality of my meal! Absolutely 5 stars!!!

I 'm sorry to say that we were a little disappointed with Cafe Mamo. Four of us visited on a Friday night, and we are all foodies: we 've been know to pick travel destinations because of the restaurant options. The food, atmosphere, and service at Cafe Mamo were all good, but not great. The prices were quite high (each dinner roll is $4, TINY cocktails are $13, etc), the menu is very small (no salads or soups, one Mocktail), and the wooden seating isn 't comfortable. I 'm having trouble finding the meat in the pork shank it was very fatty.We 're always looking for excellent dining experiences in West Michigan, and we 'll keep looking.
