Sunshine - Grand Bend

The staff at Sunshine is always friendly. We have always ordered takeout it is well packaged, warm, and tasty. Food is good if you are looking for Chinese cuisine.

Never had a bad meal here. Fast and delicious. It's great for when you don't want the same thing every night but don't want to go too far out there with food choices. Solid meals.

This was our first visit to Sunshine Chinese Restaurant, and we were excited to try out this new spot. They have a second location in Lucan, located slightly off the beaten path but still close to Grand Bend, Zurich, Exeter, and other nearby areas. Situated across from Bayview Golf Club, make sure to drive slowly as you approach to ensure you don't miss it, especially when coming from the South. Parking is plentiful. The interior has a cozy cottage vibe due to its conversion from a previous establishment, with seating for around 30 guests. Currently, there is minimal Chinese decor aside from a few lanterns, but that may change in the future. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, while the owner/cook also frequently assists in the dining room, creating a family-style dining experience. The atmosphere is relaxed, and casual attire is common among diners of all ages. The extensive menu mainly features Chinese dishes, with some Western options available for those who prefer more familiar fare. There are plenty of individual dishes to choose from, but the focus is on the dinners for 1 to 6 people, as well as a selection of 5 combination meals designed for one person. The portion sizes are generous, with the combo meals overflowing on full-sized plates. Many diners were surprised by the large portions, leading to plenty of impressed reactions. Take-home boxes are often needed at Sunshine. Although the food is quickly prepared and served piping hot, our opinion was mixed. The chicken balls were large but overly breaded for our taste, and the sweet and sour sauce seemed to be canned. However, the Won Ton soup and beef with black bean sauce were delicious. It appears that the cooking style may have been influenced by the clientele in Lucan, so be prepared to select your dishes carefully. For a more satisfying meal, we recommend opting for one of the combo meals rather than the dinners for one.

This restaurant is a few minutes drive from grand bend but is amazing family owned they have one in lucan ont and this one and the food is very tasty and large portions

We visited this restaurant for dinner with another couple. We ordered a meal for four and ended up with enough leftovers for a couple more meals. The food was delicious and we all enjoyed it. The waiter was incredibly busy as he served our table and cooked the food, but he was very friendly.
