Bidra med feedbackI'm no stranger to Mongolian grills, having dined at Chang's for about 25 years before they closed. We also used to go to Genghis Khan and Jasmine until prices went up and quality went down. The staff here were polite and friendly, but I did have a few issues with both the service and the establishment itself. The restaurant was clean and quiet—nothing fancy, but it was clear that not much money was being reinvested into the business. They had a menu, but we opted for the buffet. Based on a review I read, I anticipated needing to request items from the back, like rice and soup. They asked us what kind of soup we wanted and mentioned they would bring a potsticker and an egg roll, but they didn’t offer us any rice. When I asked for rice, they inquired whether I wanted white or fried. I chose white, but it never arrived. I don't know about you, but Chinese food without rice feels like a burger without fries. As I glanced at the buffet station, a few things struck me. Most of the containers were nearly empty, the ladles for the sauces were too small, and the food was cut too large. At other grills I’ve visited, the meat is sliced very thinly, which prevents diners from overfilling their bowls, allows the sauces and oils to flavor the meat better, and helps the food cook faster and more evenly. Here, the ladles were about the size of a teaspoon at best—most grill ladles are typically at least two tablespoons. So instead of getting one scoop of garlic sauce, I needed at least four. The meat was tough, both the chicken and beef, resembling jerky in thickness. The flavor was also disappointing. It seems many grills dilute their sauces, wanting to save on costs while allowing those who go for seconds to season their bowls better. The potsticker was decent but deep-fried instead of pan-fried, and it tasted like it came from a food service. The wonton soup was subpar, tasting more like instant ramen, and the egg roll was passable, but likely also from a food service supplier. I see these types of places as a treat, and given that they are becoming rare, I expect them to be outstanding. Unfortunately, this place didn’t deliver. It tasted more like takeout teriyaki than anything special. We didn’t leave hungry, but we also didn’t eat as much as we might have if the food had been better. While I can’t speak to the kitchen or menu beyond the grill, if you’re considering this place for the grill, I’d recommend passing—it's not worth the drive, effort, or energy.
This restaurant is fantastic! The food is absolutely delicious, and the portions are generous. They offer a variety of options, including family meals and individual servings. The appetizers are excellent, and the soup is just right; I have never had a bad meal here! However, the service could use some improvement. We had to explain to our waitress how to make my husband's Roy Rogers, and they didn't provide free refills like most places do. Though it's a bit pricey, the quality of the food makes it worthwhile.
I always try to take my wife to this restaurant whenever we have a date night. The food is delicious and prepared fresh right in front of you, which is hard to beat. The buffet is always fully stocked, and the staff is friendly and attentive without being intrusive. They ensure that you're having a great meal while also giving you the space to enjoy your date. Overall, I really enjoy dining here. The prices are reasonable, the food is great, and the staff is lovely.
This cozy little Mongolian Grill is definitely worth a visit. From the moment you walk in, you'll be greeted by friendly staff and the warmth from the grill. I recommend they find a way to lower the temperature in the dining area for a more comfortable dining experience. The food quality was impressive—there were no strange colors or odors when I used the tongs to fill my two bowls. The cook prepared my meal to the perfect temperature, and the flavors were outstanding. The dining area was tidy, and the buffet stations and cooking area were also clean and well-maintained. Despite the heat in the dining room, I highly recommend this restaurant for a satisfying meal! I hope they manage to improve the cooling soon. I’ll definitely be back! Thank you for your excellent service!
I just saw one of the staff members dump a trash bag full of frozen chicken into the buffet area. Trash bags are not meant for food safety. It makes me question what other health code violations might be occurring here.
