Bidra med feedbackI did not have a good experience this morning. The manager was somewhat rude, and his actions were not appreciated.
While I typically don't favor corporate businesses, this restaurant is a standout exception.
As a regular customer of Starbucks, I can confidently say that I visit the coffee shop at least 5 days out of the week.
I found the Goulburn Railway Cafe via Tripadvisor and I'm so pleased I did. Look out for the colourful flags and the little railway engine (to be restored) next door to Goulburn Railway Station. Took the children there to lunch on a day out in Goulburn today and it was perfect for us. A toastie, a Turkish Melt (slabs of ham, pineapple rings and loads of cheese on Turkish bread) and a hamburger cost sufficiently little that we also stretched to a "spider" and two ice chocolates. All the meals were well liked by myself and the children and the drinks were really loved! A great view out over the rail yards, which was a novelty for us Canberrans, who have no such thing at home and the cafe itself is very pretty. I also loved that it happens to be a social enterprise. The staff were lovely, patient while we chose and reasonably efficient in cooking the order (though we were in no rush) I'd go back any time.
The place from the outside and in may seem a little quirky. But remember this cafe is connected with the 'Angels for the Forgotten' project and has been built from scratch. Some of the staff may not be as quick as your best baristas, but they are either volunteers or working for the dole. They all go out of their way to help, and they do make good old-fashioned milkshakes.
