Maltermeister-Turm - Goslar

The Maltermeister Tower with its mountain restaurant is a rewarding destination recommended by locals, especially in beautiful weather and also today, because the view from the large sun terrace on Goslar is unique, you just have to make sure not to pass the narrow branch of Rammelsberger Straße. So we went on the way by car and also found the way that puts the road on the tower (420 m above NN). A sufficient parking is available, but not much went this afternoon. Some of the stairs can still be found until you reach the restaurant. The entire large building consists of wood (or at least the facade). Right next to the restaurant is the short Maltermeister Tower, which was first mentioned in 1548. The tower has its name according to the old space measure for wood, the painter (about 1.5 cubic meters). Around 1740 an apartment for the painter master, the wood manager of the mine, was built into the tower. He had to manage the wood needed in the Rammelsberg arch mines, mainly for burning. Couples that celebrate their wedding can stay stylish in these historic walls of the tower in the highest bedroom of the region. We went right around the restaurant to drink a coffee or the like on the large sun terrace. Only a few guests sat on the massive wooden tables and enjoyed the sun and the wonderful view of the Vorresin. In order to say it in advance, we could not see a service and therefore no coffee after a longer waiting period. But the unique view of Goslar, in the distance to the industrial area and the stems and up to the planes of the dragon at least somewhat compensated. I went on my way to the interior of the house to explore our chances of coffee and take photos. The restaurant looks bright and friendly, the tables have fabric tablecloths and are beautifully covered. In the room I don't like the chairs at all, but this is of course a question of taste. And when I walked through these two rooms, I could not find anyone who would have accepted our wishes. So back to the car. When we looked at the entrance door again, we noticed the sign “Smoking Point” and looked at it more precisely: When you open the wooden flap, three openings in the wall with foam cushions are visible at the edges, in the middle a large hole, by which you put your head outwards, and on the right and left side a smaller for the arms. The rest of the body remains in the room. This allows guests to smoke in the restaurant without violating the existing laws. Careful idea! Even if we didn't get coffee, the trip was definitely worth it due to the great view of Goslar!

Great view, delicious curry sausage and beer from the barrel. The cappuccino was somehow not my taste, the interior looked less inviting (probably due to coronary). But the terrace is worth a visit and invites you to stay after a long hike.

We celebrated my daughter's wedding here. The room was probably an outbuilding. Here you can celebrate great with about 40 people, there is a bar, enough space for a buffet, the DJ and dance floor you also have. You can also enjoy a spacious outdoor area and have a magnificent view. The service was very attentive and friendly. The food was great The highlight was the ordered wild fantastic! A really great location!

We celebrated our wedding at the Maltermeister Tower. And what should I say? You can't give more than 5 stars here! Started with food: super tasty, buffet selection for our celebration was perfect! The cake is also highly recommended (also the cake selection in the restaurant). Service: Here I would like to give 10 stars. Both the two sides of the first layer and the two sides of the second layer were always there and yet completely invisible. It was very much discussed and our wishes were implemented. Even when we had something on schedule for the planned dinner, we were asked directly whether the food should be directed a little later. Other reviews that criticize the service I cannot understand! The service was really great with us. The ambience speaks for itself. Both the view and the building have their charm! The tables were very beautifully decorated! I can only recommend Mr Peters and his team and I will be happy to celebrate again! Because from the first conversation to the actual celebration I have only had positive experiences! Thank you for helping everyone to make our day so beautiful!
