Honestly it depends on what you want. I'm really shy so I love it. Ya it's a bit dingy but the bartender, Renee, is amazing. She introduced me to +10 people. Also most people there are willing to talk to strangers. I'm not, cause again, I'm shy. As long as you're okay with talking to people who may not be the same ethnicity as you, you'll enjoy it I think.
It's a place to see familiar people and be able to meet their friends to make new ones.
Bartender is nice and always catering to your needs on slow nights although can get a bit loud and fights may break out on occasion.
I really liked this place, I walked in on a Friday night in April, it looked behind the times, and I walked through old doors and steps. They felt like 1900. The guy behind the bar was very friendly and informative. This is where the people used to check in for the hotel. He told me and that board is on the floor covers up where they used to haul up luggage. I like bars like this that aren 't revonated, or bar rescued. I mean, they get a grant and turn a place into a lavish sweet. It be nice to just restore it and have a regular hotel bar. It is a matter of perspective, if you want ritz, maybe this ain 't your place. This place is locked time and their more rare these days, an old school bar.
