Bidra med feedbackThe food wasn 't bad, the coffee was OK. The extra fee on the check was entirely inappropriate. The woman behind the counter explained that they do it all the time in the city. Glen Head is not the city! Remove this excessive and uncalled for fee!
This place is super cute and has lots of coffees and pastries. Unfortunately forcing a 20% fee on all orders is a turn off. Also there are no prices listed on the wall or next to the pastries. There is a menu with some other prices. It has potential but forcing a fee during this economy is a little beyond? Obviously you could just not go there which is probably what will happen. I didn't mind it for the first times for coffee but I mean when you're paying $7 for a small beverage half ice it's a bit unreasonable, doesn't really make you want to return.
EVERYTHING FROM HERE IS SOOOOOO MF GOOD! I happily spend $30 a day here on coffee and delicious pastries before i start my day and i have never left disappointed.Strawberry cream croissant is my jam, salted chocolate chip cookie is amazing, just had the palmier today… actually life changing. Easily the best palmier ive ever had in my life.
My second time giving this spot a try. Pro's: Interesting and diverse menu great for folks with food restrictions or leaning toward veg/vegan/GF. The Ricotta toast that I ordered was so good! My friend had a gluten free brownie and green tea also, very tasty and the tea came in a very funky tea pot! The space is extremely well designed, and light and bright! Con's: The Ricotta toast was tasty when I finally got it. It must have taken a good 20 minutes for them to get it to me, and my friend was politely waiting to dive into her brownie (which I urged her to do. My cappuccino was not hot (because it was probably made when I ordered it, but came out with the Ricotta toast . Quite frankly, the staff could use some hospitality training. Not one person greeted me positively, asked how could they help or how everything was, or smile, in general. The prices are expensive to start, and with the 20% living wage virtue signal up charge, it's just not going to be my go to cafe going forward to meet for coffee or lunch with friends. I am a generous tipper, especially when the service is exceptional. It's not exceptional here why should they go above and beyond when the staff already knows they are going to be compensated from the upcharge? How is it equitable if one staff member is doing an amazing job, and someone else is a slacker? Let the owner pay the living wage as part of her cost of doing business. I hope the owner digests the feedback from the reviews and doesn't remain dug in and rigid as I've seen is several responses on other social media platforms. Young's Farm is only a mile down the road and they don't have an attitude.
This is my favorite bakery. Ever. I’m not exaggerating. The espresso is incredible. The cocktails (and mocktails) are divine. I can’t stop eating the baked goods. Help.I also love the space and the team. Thanks for having me. I’ll be back.
