Bidra med feedbackGood burgers and pizzas, friendly proprietor but the main waiter seems to dislike serving wine to customers who prefer that to beer. He was rather rude and unpleasant with it in our two most recent visits.
I gladly take some time to review Tu Fai in Bastardo. If you are looking for a typical traditional place to eat, this might not be the restaurant for you: it 's rather modern, in a new industrial looking set of commercial buildings. But having said that, this was our single best eating experience during our stay in this region, because of multiple reasons. The staff is sincerely super friendly. We arrived (without reservation) early (much earlier than most local people tend to eat in the evening) while they were still in full preparation. We brought our (medium sized dog) and inquired if we could bring him in. This wasn 't a problem at all. They invited us in and accomodated us at a nice table on their terrace. After they brought us the menu it started raining and even though we were seated under a large umbrella they asked us if we 'd rather move to a table inside, which we did. They spontaneously brought to our attention that they have WiFi available and provided us with the password. The connection was better than most places we 've been at in Italy, and so the kids could enjoy some YouTube videos while we examined the menu and made our order. They have many things on offer: typical Italian food (a wide range of pizzas, pastas and roasted meats) but also (not so typical) burgers and fries. My youngest son was happy to be able to order a cheese burger with potato wedges, my oldest ordered a spaghetti a la carbonara, and me and my wife had pizza: me a diavola (spicy salami) and my wife a pizza with gorgonzola, pear and nuts. The woman apologized for the fact that the carbonara might take a while to be ready, but everything we ordered actually arrived rather fast. The quality of the food was excellent. Everything with fine, fresh ingredients. Super tasty. I had my fair share of pizzas, and this one can surely compete with the best ones of those. My wife had a glass of red wine with her pizza, and also that was excellent. We don 't drink beer ourselves, but we noticed they had a huge variety of local and international beers ready to be served in their fridges (I even recognized Brugse Zot which is a Belgian specialty beer). I had the tiramisu as desert (and also that was clearly freshly made on the spot). Yummy! By the time we were about to leave, the place was getting crowded, so I guess if you plan on eating there later in the evening, it 's a good idea to make a reservation, but you can also take out pizza (we saw a lot of pizza boxes picked up, and as tasty as the pizza was, I can understand that). Check came and everything is priced very reasonable. We will definitely visit Tu Fai again. I 'm eager to try out their tagliata and/or their truffle pasta. Conclusion: we highly recommend this place!
My wife and I are constantly searching for pizza between Todi and Foligno. At least 3 pizzerias have closed since the recession started 10 years ago. Finally, we tried the pizza at this restaurant TU FAI. The owner/chef studied years to make a great pizza and he succeeded, especially if you like a thin crusted pizza. I cannot recommend this more highly. We look forward to returning and (perhaps) trying a pasta and a grilled steak dish if we can resist the vast pizza offereings. Chef's wife, Floriana, is charming and attentive. Also, apparently, they do a striving take away business and we will be joining the crowd for that as well
