Aunties Cafe - Gardena

So I came in this morning looking for a good waffle breakfast plate. Unfortunately they didn?t have anything available in turkey side options(sausage and bacon) so I settled for a chicken and waffles meal. I got a side of bananas and blueberries for 5.00(only half of a banana and a decent amount of blueberries) and I everything was served on a styrofoam plate which kind of threwme off due to the fact that I had to cut my waffle with a knife knowing it might cut through the plate. Also the breakfastpotatoes I ordered had some pretty big bell peppers on the plate as well. I live in the area and I?m all about supporting localbusinesses. But this place was pretty overpriced for some OK food and the presentation of it all was pretty much like the food.Men?s restroom had a weird mildew smell and the dishes that you see along the walk way to the restroom was quite a sight to seeas well. I know this restaurant has allot of support. I?ve heard good things and I?ve heard bad things. I just had to experienceit myself. Wouldn?t be a place I would recommend to anyone if they want to enjoy the food as well as the experience inside ofthe restaurant. I hope they could make some changes so it could be more of an enjoyable experience. Great workers and they arefamiliar with the menu but it?s not the people. It?s the food and the scenery. I spent 27 dollars on the food in this picture.Didn?t seem worth it.

Ordered the chicken and Waffles. The chicken was a hack up chicken breast not cut nicely and a Waffles that had a playdough after taste. Whole plate went in trash. I also went to their restroom and the smell was so bad. Passed by the kitchen on my wayto bathroom and was dirty. That's why that plate went in the trash, should have known the food wasn't going to be good lookingand smelling the bathroom and kitchen.

Local Hawaiian place with simple menu and cozy feels. Nothing super great nor bad, good stop for a change of pace and friendly smiles.

The portuguese sausage fried rice had no taste. The waffle was soggy. The fried chicken was not that good. The spam musubi was just sweet from the sauce they added. The portuguese sausage musubi had 2 slices of a portuguese sausage link and you can onlytaste the sweet sauce. For better food for around the same price, go to The Pan or Gardena Bowl Cafe instead.

Try to dine on a weekly basis and especially on early Sunday mornings for breakfast. Scrambled eggs with green onions, Portuguese sausage, rice and coffee. Two wonderful ladies working there are ALWAYS courtesy, and friendly. Clean restaurant. Mybreakfast is ALWAYS fresh, delicious and nicely presented. The owner and/or management really know the food and restaurantbusiness which is quite evident by the experience you 'll receive from the greetings you get when you enter, eating your meal &checking on your satisfaction on the meal and the thank you from the staff when leave. Very cool. Just the way it should be.????
