Candelaria La Cocinera - Garachico

We had been waiting for this to open since the menu looked traditional. However sadly disappointed- we had decided what we wanted to order but were then told they were unavailable, in fact as we went through the items many were unavailable. They should have just used a board advertising what was available. Eventually found something- chefs specialty scrambled eggs- basically lots of fried potato sitting in a lake of oil with a few bits of rubberised egg. No seasoning or flavour. Salad was a meagre offering, especially for the price- about half a tomato, 3 pieces of avocado and some minute pieces of cheese spread out carefully to look like more. My husbands meal arrived after I had finished with no apology or explanation although we did feel they just forgot to cook it since the waiter re appeared and we asked where it was! To top it all they over charged on the bill and when I pointed it out it was as if it was my fault. Awful service, bad manners.

20th sept The welcome was anything but professional, we sat down only to be informed that 2/3 of the menu was not available, we should have left at that point, but we decided to stay and hope for the best. The wine was warm making the cold water more acceptable. The starter was ok, but before we could finish the main meal arrived, all very quick and rushed. We ordered chicken in red sauce what we got was a disgusting mess of frozen chicken drum sticks floating in grease and a few frozen chips, no veg, though they supposedly on the menu. We could NOT eat what had been put before us (we think the chef hadn’t turned up that night) so we left, the waiter didn’t question why after only 20 minutes we were leaving even though he’d seen our practically full plates. If you like good food do not go there try one of the other restaurants around the square we’d used El Rebojo the night before and we should have gone back there.

Worst experience in our Tenerife stay. Food presentation on a level of fast food restaurant and cost on a level of fine dining. Big disappointment, also for Trip advisor rating!

Lugar algo escondido, pero bonito y con encanto. Productos canarios. Amplia carta. Tardan en la preparación de los platos pero vale mucho la pena la espera. Está todo recién hecho. Recomendamos los tallarines salteados con verduritas añadiendo pollo o gambas, muy buenos. A tener en cuenta que no nos han dejado pagar con tarjeta de crédito, solo efectivo o bizum (cosa que no nos ha gustado demasiado) Recomendable 100

Hay muchas cosas que no entiendo de las redes sociales, y la disparidad de opiniones sobre un sitio es una de ellas. Entiendo que hayas tenido una mala experiencia en la que ha sido tu única visita (y doy por hecho que no vas a volver para darle una segunda oportunidad , pero ya clamar por el cierre de un negocio me parece demasiado
