Bidra med feedbackWe went there last Thursday about 5:30. The restaurant was super busy, but we were seated in the very back. It wasn 't the best place to be, but the service was very good and the food was excellent. We ordered the daily special, and loved it. Just be careful when you order spicy, that 's exactly what you will get. Mine was crabs and corn potatoes. Super good and super messy. The biggest draw back in sitting in the back (at one time it must have been a garage) is that you don 't enjoy the ambience and bar.
I went fishing at the Galveston pier and someone recommended this place for lunch. They spoke very highly of it so I gave it a try. We ordered raw oysters and fried calamari for appetizers. Both tasted mediocre--not so bad, not so good, just average. For our entrees, we ordered fish and shrimp. The Huli Fish and Shrimp was actually pretty tasty, especially with the white sauce on top. Their seafood seems to be very fresh and seasoned well. The ambiance was very casual. We received pretty good service, too. I would like to come back and try their seafood boils!
I came to Huli Huli Hut hungry after a 21 mile bike ride and left satisfied Po Boy (Blackened Shrimp with Spici fries) 8/10 I wanted a poboy, and boi... did they deliver. It's simple. It's delicious. It was greatly complemented with floppy bread. The reason I said that that bread complemented it is because it made it easy to wrap around all the shrimp. The spicy fries were good too! Regarding Service, it's a little bit slow but you have to remember that you're on island time. Ambience is great. It's loud, colorful, and transports you into a Hawaiian hut. Funny enough, they're playing Shark Tank while I was in there props to your team, Huli Huli Hut, that was educationally on brand. In Galveston, you don't have as much of an abundance of restaurants as Houston... BUT there are still some great spots. I'd say Huli Huli is one of them
We have been here quite a few times in the last year. Much improved from my last review. The food has been consistently good, especially liking the blackboard specials. Last time we went we had a table of 7 and our orders did get a bit mixed up, but our server was working her tail off. The food was delicious we had a snow crab and crawfish special, and it really hit the spot!! This is a casual spot so no dress up needed!
Great place to eat! Came in on a Monday night during happy hour, ordered blackened stuffed flounder and husband ordered the Ace. OMG the food was so freaking good! I almost ate everything off my plate, it was filling! Then helped the hubs with his crawfish so he could finish and enjoy his meal. The flavoring, seasoning on his plate was oh so good!! Im still licking my fingers! Server did a great job on recommendations and checking in on us, the atmosphere inside was fun and inviting, was a tad loud inside but thats ok. The family beside us brought in their catch of the day and the kitchen cooked it up for them which was pretty fun and enjoyed listening to their little boys telling their fishing story. This restaurant is one you absolutely have to try while in town. 10 out of 10 and be prepared to waddle back to the car afterwards, I did.
