Hey Mikey's Ice Cream - Galveston

It was my friend's first time here on Thursday afternoon (around 5pm) and we were left disappointed! Last time I had been here was summer. My friend was in town for the day and she was in the mood for some ice cream; long story short we ended up at Hey Mikey's. I knew which ice cream to get, my friend (being her first time there) had questions. Every question she asked the girl behind the counter (the cashier), the girl would answer with attitude. My friend had a question about one specific ice cream that was labeled and the girl behind the counter just simply responded with we don't have that with a hint of annoyance in her tone. Okay, we simply ignored it thinking she was having a rough day. We got our ice cream and sat on one of the tables along the wall, as soon as we sat down, we heard the cashier girl let out a very loud groan. At about 5 minutes or so of trying to enjoy our ice cream, my friend realized the cashier had handled cash money to the customers that were at the front of us while we waited in line, and not use gloves or washed her hands to serve us the ice cream. Needless to say the waffle cone she had served us the ice cream! Disappointed in her customer service and disgusted that we had to throw away our ice cream and we left. I was sad and disappointed!

I was very excited to visit this place today. Unfortunately, my peppermint chocolate ice cream was icey, and there were large ice crystals, that is, the ice cream again softens and frozen again. they had no waffel truncions either.

The staff here are excellent, and the ice cream is amazing! If you are ever looking for a cold treat, be sure to stop by. If they are open, we stop by every time we are in Galveston for a beach day. Great selection of ice cream, and your kids are going to love it

Outstanding homemade ice cream! Great service. A bit pricey but worth it for the quality of the product. We will definitely be back!
