Bidra med feedbackSome of the best pizza I’ve ever had. The special with lamb sausage and olives was phenomenal, and the margarita was also delicious. The meatballs were a great appetizer. Service was stellar, location is convenient, and ambiance was just right. Can’t wait to go back.
Good tasting pizza. $20+ for a personal pie is a bit ridiculous though. We would like to support more often but these prices are high for a personal portion of dough, cheese and deli meat. $10-$15 would be more reasonable.
UPDATE. Oh dear! There’s a new pizziola making pies now on Saturdays. Apparently the owner trained him, but not well enough! The dough was raw (yes, raw) the toppings were excessive (literally the entire top of the pizza slid off when picked up) and the pizzas overall lacked the usual exceptional flavor. Go on a Friday when the owner is working the oven!!! Old review- Believe the hype! Tiny menu, big flavor. This is true Neapolitan pizza. Notoriously hard to get into… because they’re never open! Always get the daily special- it may sound weird, but trust me, whatever it is it will be fantastic. BYO. Zzz
Going here is an event. If you just want pizza then go to a pizza shop but if you want artistry in a wood fired brick oven go to aquila. We ordered each appetizer and each pie. All were outstanding. Well worth the trip.
We like Aquila Pizza Al Forno very much. We have eaten there a few times. The pizzas are delicious and the wait staffers are friendly. Here's why I'm giving a two-star review. On our last visit on December 28 we had a problem, though. We were a party of three. My wife was chewing on her pizza, and she felt something hard. Upon examination, it turned out to be a sharp, thin, stiff wire, about a quarter inch long. We brought this to our waitress’s attention and handed the wire to her. She took it, thanked us and.. . . . nothing. We expected a manager to come over to apologize for what, if ingested, could have led to serious internal complications. But nothing. Someone should have come over and said they’d let the manager know. Had a manager contacted us to apologize, I wouldn’t have minded paying for that pizza, but receiving no reaction at all made the incident doubly regrettable when the pizza in question showed up on the bill. This was poorly done.
