Bidra med feedbackIn the middle of the Black Forest town of Furtwangen 900 m.a.l.m., Café Mayerhöfer is located on the main street to the market square, which is housed in an inconspicuous residential/business house. The café is entered by a sales room dominated by a long shop table. In this shop are all magnificent cakes and cream cakes that are only waiting to be destroyed by the value of the customers. On the right you reach the coffee room and when you enter it, you think you will be reset in the late 70s of the previous century. Although the furniture has a real coffee house atmosphere, the overall picture of the café, in my opinion, needed a refreshment of furniture, colors and wallpapers. However, this does not break the good coffee and the delicious cakes. The operation could be a trace of friendly and escape perhaps it was on Sunday work, but otherwise there was nothing to complain. In addition to the usual cakes and cakes, the card also has smaller dishes and the drinks are besides the coffee drinks, the usual ones you know: alcoholic and alcohol-free drinks. In the seasons, when it leaves the temperatures, it is guided on the walkway in front of the café. For a fast coffee you can sit down safely, otherwise it is quite loud and the exhaust gases of the passing cars are also not particularly good for health.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great coffee and excellent selection of cakes. Black Forest Gateaux one of the best. Outside seats were great for us with our dog. Friendly lady even brought water for our dog. Very recommended.
After our lunch we crossed the street to enjoy some cakes and chocolate. We loved the Black Forest cake, which is typical of the region. We also had some cookies and some chocolate truffles. You even had a chocolate cuckoo clock.
We visited the German watch museum and later searched for avenues for lunch. Most things were closed nearby and we stumbled over this great restaurant. I think the food, the dessert, the staff... everything was just perfect. Nice to visit her again.
