Umi Sushi Fresno

We were there twice for dinner. Although the staff is friendly and the sushi is wonderful, it takes so long to use it. I wish it was a bit faster. Except that no complaints. Parking: parking not a problem at night.

I used to work in downtown Fresno and Umi Sushi was my lunch. I'd meet my husband there or he'd pick me up and take me and it's so delicious. The staff is friendly food is great and the price is reasonable. If you're in downtown Fresno, that's a must.

This is a late review, but better late than never, lol! Was in Fresno at a conference so this place is super comfortable as it is directly opposite the conference center. Fresno is strange that many of the food centres are literally closed on weekends, including this place. But while it is open, they are packed!!! Okay, there are not too many Japanese sushi sites around, but you still have to be decent to survive! Luckily, they actually ate quite delicious! I went to lunch and dinner and was quite satisfied! You just have to plan ahead and go EARLY so it's not too full. They are also not the fastest, but I think people order a lot of their roles that takes a lot of time. I had a Poke Bowl for lunch and a Chirashi Bowl for dinner so I could check her sushi and how fresh her fish was. Both were delicious, cuts were good, and the poke taste was quite stained. Chirashi was decent. I just didn't like the amount of seaweed and salad in it. I saw what other people ordered, and everything looked pretty delicious! I'm just glad this location is still active despite rising costs. People in the restaurant seemed really happy with this place, and there were regular there, so that was a plus! But it is not the largest room, which is why waiting can probably be hard. They have outdoor seating, but it was too cold to sit outside, despite a warm fire! I'm just relieved to know I can go back there when I'm in Fresno!

Come to work. The place was packed as they are usually busy during lunchtime. We have a table outside. Metered parking near, but limited to 30 minutes at a time, so the counter had to feed a few times. The seafood was fresh. My Sashimi salad had a lot of fish and a beautiful dressing. Tempura starter had a good mix of vegetables and delish! Appropriate prices. The service was decent, but had to wait a while to get our check. Apart from that, we had a good experience.

Freshest sushi The Waiter was friendly and very helpful at picking sushi we would like based on our favorite types which are raw uncooked rolls with a lot of flavor and mango and citrus topped or spicy. He recommended an off- menu item Im sure they'll curse me for reviewing (because it takes longer to make), but it literally is the best. It's called spoons and I believe it is tuna, butterfish, fresh real crab, and cucumber wrapped in a slice of fresh salmon and topped with red and black roe, scallions, and black sesame seeds.there is no rice and it's served in spoons with a vinegar based sauce. My mouth waters and now ever single time I am traveling through Fresno we have to make a stop to get them. Every single time I've gotten them they taste the same and I have never gotten any fish that wasn't the absolute freshest. The other rolls we really love I cannot remember the name of but I'll post a picture. I Love the outdoor seating option.
