John and Barbara have had this bar in the family for over 150 years. A great place to have a drink, watch the deer out back, and brouse the huge amount of antiques inside. A not to be missed experience.
If you love finding places that when you walk into that stops you in your steps(for the good reasons), then go here. It's a bar/museum/historical page from history. Being an outsider, I was still treated well.....something much appreciated when visiting very small towns. You'll spend hours looking at the items on the walls....so much to see. The bar tender was very pleasant and offered much on the history of the building. A must stop!
Walking into a small-town bar can be a bit daunting—you never quite know if the locals will be warm and inviting or if everyone will glance at you suspiciously from their bar stools. However, there's no need to worry! This spot is truly delightful and definitely worth a visit. The owners and the other patrons were incredibly friendly, sharing the history of the bar and highlighting some remarkable antiques among the many artifacts displayed. They even introduced us to Tank, the charming old yellow lab who lounges on the porch. We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return. Just a heads up: it's cash only!
What a hidden gem! This place is a remarkable piece of California history. Enjoy a healthy beverage as you soak it all in.
