Li's Place - Freeport

I've been going to Li's for years now and the food is always amazing and service top notch. They are great I could not recommend them enough as a great place to grab a bite. Best lo mein in the state!

Food was your typical New England style Chinese and the pupu platter was your average Chinese food to expect. My major issue with this place was the dude working at the front desk. I was visiting for the weekend and placed a takeout order. When we got there the door was propped open, people could be seen eating inside, and so we walked in and began paying for our meal with the woman at the cash register. Just as we’re wrapping up payment, a young man comes out of the kitchen and yells at us “you can’t be in here!” I asked what he meant as the woman was taking our money and we didn’t see any signage that indicated it was curbside only/nor were we told when picking it up. Immediately he again raises his voice saying that it was clearly stated on the door which was propped open and the sign saying curbside pick up was the only option was on the door side that you wouldn’t have seen since it was propped open. There’s 100 ways this dude could’ve handled this but instead chose to yell at us and I wish I hadn’t just paid or I would’ve walked out leaving the food there. He could have simply said “oh just so you know next time it’s curbside only, have a good night and enjoy”. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I am staying at the Freeport Hotel and your place was suggested. I judge a Chinese restaurant by their hot and sour soup and the crab Rangoon’s I have to say, both of them are with perfection. The hot and sour soup has so much ingredients in it, thick and spicy. I really hate it when you go places and there’s like nothing in it this is wonderful, so I highly recommend it to everyone. Crab Rangoon’s are nice and creamy, large and crunchy. delicious. I just love it. Thank you so much. Whoever was cooking today. Fabulous job. After ordering there I can see why the reviews are so good. Chinese is a food that is difficult to please everyone, but Li comes very close. I had pig Lo my 7*. It was loaded with spices of pork and was boiled directly. Wife had General Tao's Chicken 10* and it was very good. Not much bread and filler. Broccoli was firm, but tender. Pu-pu-Platter was good. I like the deep fried pork. My only comment would be the chicken had not enough teriyaki taste and the rice was hard and not tasteful compared to the rest of the meal.

They never fail, china rose loses a lot of business because of fresh food, quality and the very nice interaction every time at Li’s Place. I don't even see China's way more lol.
