Bidra med feedbackStopped in for coffee but Cathy talked us into breakfast. Sure glad she did. It was excellent. Cathy is a gem and if you are lucky she may sit down with you and give you her view of the world. Be quick, the place is for sale. The Restaurant it self has seen better days. but don't let that put you off. The food is great.
Home made burgers and fries, big bowls of soup and the Snitzel Neptune is to die for! Oh, and the homemade pies??!! Cherry a la mode is my fave!
My wife and I are driving from Alaska to Northern California and like to find smaller local eats. We've driven past before but never during meal time before. It looked nice and local so in we went. It was very quiet but we were greeted quickly by the owner. I had a bacon burger and my wife ordered a denver omelet. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bun (not the standard store type) was grilled. The bacon was thick and crispy, yummm! Homemade fries filled out th.e plate. My wife's omelet was very good with excellent home style potatoes. Then we shared a bummble berry pie and ice cream. The pie was homemade and I would have eaten the whole pie (not just the slice)! A great local, hometown cafe. And if you happen to be there between April and June you may see hundreds of hummingbirds just outside your table window.
Ordered the breakfast to go and took it to my hotel room next door. The rice krispie squares area gigantic and delicious!
A homey little spot that has wonderful food, pleasant and friendly service and very generous servings. If you stop there you must try a piece of pie! We stopped there on our way up the canyon and were so pleasantly surprised we made a point of stopping on the way back down the canyon.
