The rude man and his wife are no longer there: now the place has a great service and a friendly smile. but unfortunately incredible quality of eating it is no longer there. Mediocre bus.
Certainly very business and direct owners/waiter, not to lose time on big smiles and raised discussion and menu study: order, enjoy, however, I was surprised by a certain superior note the dame did on the close-redients in the pizza I had ordered....Prices are exactly right for the place, even in the heart of the pretty posh constabler district. décor basic, seems recently renewed. the washroom is good in the building, but surprisingly clean. they pay the chef after eating at the wood stove counter -efficiency. this place deserves a hat-off for the just enough of everything that is necessary to have a good cheap delicious pizza or pasta with an salad and a beer.
Old Italian to welcome you check Wood powered pizza oven check Weared down environment of small town family pizza place check Staff what is/seems to be all from family check Their old friends eating and being happy and loud in Italian... check Then comes pizza... And with all above mentioned you get average German fast food pizza in the end, disappointing. Pizza was too thick and ingredients where also not on par what you expect from Italian pizza place. Please source better ingredients and go back to real thin Italian pizzas and you soon will be overwhelmed with those who looks for small Italian town pizza experience! Please add more traditional and complex Italian Pizzas on the menu as Capricciosa, Calabrese, Napoletana, etc Do not adapt your food to Germany, go full scale Italian! You have all what is required to get yourself to the next level and out of fast food joint category.
The owner is a bit grumpy, his wife is also not the friendliest to deal with, but they are both one family and a cute pair together in their own special way. He does the Pizza, she does the kitchen. Pizza is made in big stone oven with wood fire, so the outcome is actually fantastic. Ingredients are not always fresh, if you do not ask for it. In other words, some are canned, like mushrooms. I always ask for fresh ingredients, then the Pizza is just formidable. Variety from Italian foods to choose from, and best made by Italians themselves. Not very busy place, but actually worth a visit to try the Pizza and have a chat with the owner.
