Cafe Extrablatt Eschenheimer Tor

Very, very tasty. For each of Frankfurt visits an absolute must. Operation very friendly and friendly. Was there with a slightly larger group and the waiting time was super short.

The Eschenheimer Turm was a city gate of the late-medieval city fortification of Frankfurt am Main and a landmark of the city I don't try you with boring history... The tower itself was built with the foundation of the Frankfurter Neustadt and the construction of the new city wall of 1333. Since 1992, i.e. over 650 years later, it is again accessible from the pedestrian area Schillerstraße. On the ground floor there is the café with restaurant and bar; the chimney room of the tower guards is also open in the winter months. The tower is unfortunately not accessible due to its age. The toilet is only reached via a spiral staircase. To date, I have only been sitting outside on one of the swinging tables (unfortunately I have no distinctive name, so I cannot judge the interior of the tower. The service staff is usually very friendly and helpful, but the guests at the back tables are often not tragically overlooked for me as I bring time... To date, I was mainly at the times of Buisness Lunch (Mo Fr between 12 and 3 p.m. In this time a selection of dishes is offered at a cheaper price. I like the choice of the Hot Stone courts. Here you can grill your steak on a hot stone yourself as you want. It is also possible to choose between six different supplements and four different dips. I had a special interesting experience in my last visit the day I was with a friend. He was in Frankfurt for the first time and so I wanted to show him a really nice restaurant there... Placed, order given up... first get drinks, then our hot stones... grilled and finally started with the food... suddenly we got a company of a few puppies that don't care what we didn't leave... Only if I had a little bit of my food and aside, we could only observe that a caterpillar feed through... before they managed to get rid of my own snacks with the torn pieces of meat...

Had a very nice evening with friends some time ago. We are often on the way by train and walk and were lured into the inviting bar. Beverages were very good and inexpensive, as well as a very nice atmosphere and mood. Always happy!
