Lousy service, uncaring management and mediocre food. Not worth your time or money.
The food was tasty and the pink lemonade was especially delicious despite being €5. Other than that the prices are reasonable and the interior design has a...
Alex on the rooftop terrace of Skyline Plaza has been on my list for a long time. In wonderful weather, I wanted to take advantage of the hour's favor and food via the rooftops of the Frankfurter Europaviertel (the rooftop terrace of the Skyline Plaza is still far below most of the other rooftops of the area, but sounds good. Alex can be reached via the lifts in the middle of the Skyline Plaza (always follow the signs of Dachgarten). At the top you come either through the normal entrance to Alex or through the roof garden and the terrace belonging to the restaurant. The terrace is partly protected with parasols. Normal tables but also deck chairs invite you to stay. The atmosphere has something of club holiday, easy, hip and loud. Seeing and seeing seems to be more important here than eating and drinking. Unfortunately, there is no room left outside and so I go through one of the terrace entrances inside. The facility is here ala Lounge or Bar. In addition to the large counter area there is a lateral, tubular space, as well as a further larger space with normal seating. Although there are many large windows, but the umbrellas of the terrace also darken a large part of the interior. Due to the many groups of guests who walk through the room looking for space and through the feeling dozens of service forces that pick up drinks from the counter, there is a rainy coming and going that gives up more of the train station mood. Cosy is different. For the ambience 3 stars Nevertheless, I sit at a free table in the bar area and watch a little the colorful drive. Shortly afterwards, a bearded gentleman in local service outfit, who reminds me of Higgin's trophic suit with apron, comes to me at the table to pick up my order. Since I had some time before and the card(s are on the tables, I could also order. The kitchen in Alex offers what is not to be missed in any in-store: baguette, flame-cake, pasta, salads, burgers, carvings and steaks (probably I have forgotten what, but also is not easy to keep the overview when there are several cards that are stuck in one another I finally order the steak-variant steak alcohol again (17,60 €) It's a lot going on today and I actually expect a somewhat longer waiting time. But I barely made a picture, looked around me a little and read a few lines in my book, and my food was already brought to me. The supply of food seems here, as I could see at other tables, to be done directly by the kitchen staff. The service personnel receiving the orders were then only responsible for the beverage transport or the payment process. With the food came a small paper bag with cutlery and napkin to the table, but my beer still remained lost and the food was also gone again before I could ask him to my drink (I assume he could not do anything anyway. He apologised with an oh sorry, I hadn't heard that, and made himself up to organize my beer. Since I was hungry I made it based on it and made me about my steak and the beer actually delivered shortly afterwards. The steak itself was very well roasted. Medium ordered it came easily medium-minus to the table. On the outside with a pepper mixture and coarse salt it tasted quite neat, but despite very good frying result unfortunately had the one or other somewhat tougher, stretchy place. The size was specified for the Rumpsteak with 200g (Rib-Eye 230g , which felt slightly undershot. There were several grilled, unfortunately only poorly lukewarm and low-salt, Mediterranean vegetables (Zucchini, Aubergine, Paprika , herbal butter, a little shove rocket and 2 small pieces of herbal cababatta . The amount of vegetables and bread was more worthy of a decoration than a supplement to meat, so that the curry sausage stand on the ground floor of the Skyline plaza, he would have had still open than I left, would have made good sales. In order to pay, I had to organize another waiter, because the one who had taken me under his wings had not been seen anymore. By default, here for payment a little bit is ribbed around the Tamagotchi carried by the waiter and an amount is said. On my question for a document, this was indeed (although a bit worried about the face, this seems to be rather inappropriate here. The service has not impressed me very much here. It was more like mass production in Zack-Zack mode. Although friendly but not very customer oriented. Two stars. The food didn't convince me either. Although the steak was well fried, it might have been a bit more accurate to look at the crude product. The lukewarm vegetables and the almost poor Ciabatta pieces make me come to just under 3 stars. Cleanliness: At first glance, the guest room is well maintained and clean. If you look more closely, you'll find crumbs from the predecessor on the tables. 3.5 star price/performance ratio: With Alex, it is probably necessary to consider the exposed position on the roof of the Skyline plaza again. Still, I really want to be fed. 3 star conclusion: For beer drink on the roof terrace perhaps, for dinner rather not anymore.
