Bidra med feedbackGibby's is a local favorite and we have eaten here before. Tonight I saw no less than 5 groups of people I know in the 45 minutes we were there! Hubby and I stopped in for a quick supper before volunteering at the local theater. We were quickly seated since the place wasn't yet busy. However all the tables I could see were occupied before we left and people were waiting. We received our iced teas quickly and Hubby ordered a Hot Brown while I ordered a Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and broccoli. Our salads came soon after we ordered. The greens were a mix of leaf lettuce and other greens, maybe due to the current ban on Romaine. Regardless I found it more enjoyable with the mix of greens! We waited a little longer than I expected for our entree's, but they were worth the wait. Hubby finished his, but I took half of mine home for a later lunch with a second piece of garlic toast. The other day I had a grilled Reuben sandwich from here for lunch, and it had generous portions of both corned beef and sauerkraut.
We grabbed a bite for lunch, which I believe is a different menu and workflow than dinner so this review is just for lunch. I had the hot brown sandwich which was really good but very difficult to eat with the plastic silverware that they give you. Mind you, it isn't the kind of sandwich that you can just pick up and eat. It was funny trying to eat it and made for a good memory- and the cheese gravy was 100% worth the struggle! I could have probably asked for some real silverware but then I would have had to of left my mouthwatering food and I needed to get down to business, haha! So that brings me to another point, lunch is a self serve set-up but there was a hostess stand so I think that dinner is a much different scene... I guess we will just have to go back and find out!
Family dinner with my awesome in-laws tonight. Gibby's is a Frankfort staple. Great atmosphere downtown with the train in front of the restaurant. They not only have Italian, but American Fare as well. I ordered the Bruschetta Chicken. It was a grilled chicken breast so juicy, topped with mozzarella, bruschetta, and balsamic. It was delicious. I love the seasonal veggie medley. Mom got The Petite Sirloin with a baked potato. It was huge, well seasoned. She was able to save half for lunch tomorrow.
I went in here with a large group. When I say large, like 13 people. Not ideal since you have to go up an order lunch from the counter but it due end up working out. The food was super good. Nobody in our group had anything to complain about as everyone in our group is in the restaurant industry in Louisville. It has lots of options for everyone!
My husband I love this place! We've been twice I've been very satisfied on both occasions. Their selection is pretty large, ranging from spaghetti to cold sandwiches. On our recent trip, I got the BLT a side of Greek pasta salad that was delicious! I would definitely recommend this place.
