La Casa De Doña Lupe - FRANCISCO ZARCO

My wife and I visited with a wine tasting group excursion. This winery is not at all prepared for a group (2 busses showed up . There was a big line to a single wine serving station , served samples in plastic cups(!? , no information at the tasting about the varietals or the winery. All the reds I tasted were very, very young and not ready to drink. I tried a nebbiolo, shiraz, pinot noir, and cabernet sauvignon. None had any nose at all, and only one was remotely drinkable for me. I did not try any sweet wines. The grounds are pretty, but I can 't see any reason to try his winery again even on a solo visit. Maybe if you like sweet wines or whites they might have something for you. They did have live music which was nice, but other than that and the view there was nothing for me here.

We spent Sunday afternoon at La Casa de Dona Lupe in Valle de Guadalupe, the wine region of Baja California. It's a great place to visit and spend the day eating great food, listening to live music, taking in a great view of the vineyard, and just having a great time.

Scenery is amazing and relaxing. Wine is good but the Honey wine was too sweet for us. Saw reviews about molded jam; since they don't use preservatives, it can easily get molded.

Very nice place. The pizza was amazing. The wines were good. The cream cheeses and jams available for tasting were great too. My only less than positive feedback was for the wine tasting. You had to know which ones you want to taste and get a flight of those four. For someone that doesn't know much about wines it makes it difficult to know what to choose and not feel pressure to just pick something to not hold up the line. You also dont have a label or reference for which ones you picked if you arent familar so its hard to go back and say I'll buy whatever this cup is and not know what it was. Other than that it was a nice experience. Maybe if visiting on your own time and not on a shore excursion from a cruise the experience could be different.

The experience was great! The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. The scenery is beautiful. The talent is amazing. The food is ok. But please be careful when buying the jams. I bought 3 to take home. I opened one up and the top had mold. The second one had mold on the lid so I tossed it too. I was very disappointed.
