Butcher Brew Halcyon - Forsyth County

Went for lunch today. No popcorn app at all. Service was insanely slow considering there was basically no one else in the place. Food was bland…..seriously….kitchen needs to learn to taste things before they leave the kitchen. Ancient bowl had no redeeming qualities. Kale? That was spinach. Sweet potato had zero flavor. Kids Mac and cheese tasted like nothing. Velveeta has more flavor. Did I mention the service was slow? It took almost 2 hours for lunch when the place was dead.

It's bar food. We went during lunch, but I bet the night scene is fun.

I stopped by Butcher Brew and decided on the Greek bowl with chicken. The meal itself was quite tasty, living up to the culinary promise. I particularly enjoyed the complimentary popcorn--it added a playful and welcoming touch to the table setting. The service was on the slower side, which was noticeable, but it wasn't enough to dampen the overall experience. All things considered, Butcher Brew earns a well-deserved 4 stars from me.

Living in the neighborhood we come her regularly. Great Brew Pub with some great food and good selection of craft brew. Most brews used to be mostly IPAs; however, choices for more flavorful lagers and amber beers have been improving. Still great atmosphere. Free popcorn with drinks. The Gustavo, a fried chicken sandwich) has been a consistently good sandwich. I like it regular as well as buffalo style. They have a monthly burger special. Today 10/14, The Louie could have used a bit more garlic aioli with the 2 types of mushrooms and crispy fried mushrooms it could also have used an extra slice of swiss. Service is nice and friendly. Living in Halcyon now for 3 years, we used to like the pigs in a blanket appetizer; however, they have trouble with consistency on that dish. The puff pastry has been undercooked the last 2 times so we didn't order it today. They have some really good loaded homemade chips. Fries are really good as well and they have a truffle option. If they are busy sometimes fries have seemed undercooked but they were quick to make it right. Consistently good customer service.

The atmosphere and service definitely deserve a 5. My girlfriend and I got some wings and one of their bowls, which Honestly wasnt good at all. The food tasted pretty bland and relatively underwhelming for the reputation this place has. The server, kyle, and manager were very quick to fix our situation and provide us with a solution. Their service and attentiveness is why i still gave the restaurant all 5 stars, even though the food honestly deserved a 2 for what we sampled.Vegetarian options: Sandwichs and salads.Dietary restrictions: I have a dairy allergy and the chef was very attentive.Parking: Halycon complex is a beautiful place to be with alot to do and a great night life around music, drinks food and games.Wheelchair accessibility: The entire complex is wheelchair accessible, the place is rather large though so your arms, or whoever is pushing you, is going to hate it.
