Haveli - Forest Hills

We had a 6:30 PM Sat reservation for a party of 8. The restaurant is very large with vast space between the tables so is quite comfortable. This restaurant must survive on the buffet lunch crowd and functions as it remained empty throughout the 3 hours we were there. This was also true the other 3 times I've eaten dinner there. The food, which was delicious, must have been cooked to order from scratch, as it took an hour for the first dish to arrive the breads (Nans no Poori here). Each dish was presented randomly so we were forced to share as we were famished couldn't wait for our individual dishes. I find that because each Indian dish is so distinct, people have less desire to share than at a Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately because the vegetarian dishes came out first, they were quickly devoured, leaving our vegetarians nothing but breads to eat when the meat dishes finally appeared.

The food was fantastic, particularly the Madras fish curry that our amazing server, Barmoni, suggested. She was incredibly kind and attentive!

The food was delicious, but there seemed to be a delay in service, as it took an hour for the first dish to arrive (there are no poori, only naan). The dishes were presented randomly, which forced us to share among ourselves since we couldn’t wait for each person to receive their individual orders. I find that in Indian cuisine, where the flavors are so distinct, people are less inclined to share compared to a Chinese dining experience. Unfortunately, the vegetarian dishes arrived first and were quickly consumed, leaving our vegetarian guests with little to eat except bread until the meat dishes finally came out. Overall, while the food was good, the timing and service need improvement.

I visited this restaurant to celebrate my little brother's birthday, and it was incredibly family-friendly. The venue featured a spacious, well-lit hall adorned with beautiful chandeliers and artwork on the walls, creating a pleasant atmosphere. It was nice and quiet, making it easy to find a table. The service was excellent, too. There were six of us, and we each chose different dishes. Everything is served buffet style, allowing us to select the items we wanted for our plates. The food was absolutely delicious—though I couldn't pronounce half of it, I'd happily eat it all again. If you're not a fan of spice, they can definitely prepare milder options. Overall, we had a fantastic experience here!

The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. The restaurant was spacious and well-distributed. I will certainly return in the future. Additionally, the portion sizes were quite generous.
