Bidra med feedbackThis location was taken over to a new high level. a perfect formula for good food service to satisfy local tourist, young old. I wouldn't have dreamed of getting a perfectly made cocktail super pizza. on a Monday evening in fontevraud. also traditional dinners are presented freshly modern. great quality cheese selection carefully selected, but clear selection of right local weeps from saumur champigny to rare bourgeuil biodynamic! perfect host perfect consistent service every time. what this village has been waiting for. the best in the city. brilliant!
This restaurant has recently changed the hands and that was the first visit under the new property. they were always loud, who crumbled loudly about the rather angular inner and this has not improved: the soft device would help here. the service has significantly improved...and the menu is extended. the wine list has deteriorated almost all Loire wines and red wine is served in unacceptable cold. the food is not satisfactory, however: my main course was a mere part of salmon surrounded by half-kartoffels, which are arranged in watch mode and accompanied by a quarter of a tomato with a lemon that is so thin that it could have been cut by a microtome. a microtome has probably also cut the brot that is actually exhausted when picking up and what a miserable caffe gourmet! the impression was from a medium English restaurant that tried to copy French cuisine to a budget. much too expensive for what was produced.
We didn’t have any reservation on our first night for a restaurant. We were sent away at the hotel at the village square, claiming that they were full (which was not the case as we walked by later on). With not many options left we...walked to this restaurant and were happy that they had room for 2 and were happy to welcome us. We ordered the fish of the day and the lam with haricots verts. It was nothing special and an ok meal. The biggest joy came from the fact that we actually had some warm food that night.
A nice menu, reasonable prices, excellent cuisine, a friendly welcome what's not to like? My wife and I were very pleased with the place.
We were short on time and wanted to have a half decent French meal whilst in this lovely town. We came across this restaurant through trip advisor and walked, the distance out of the town, ok for us , a much much if you 're not...terribly mobile. The atmosphere was ok, average. Other folks have posted pictures. The menu not too expensive for a two course lunch with bread and water approx 17 euros. The wine list was very expensive for way below decent wine, and we couldn 't understand why the owner didn 't have a carafe at a fair price, very rarely we didn 't bother 5 euros for a 10clr glass was too mush for us. I had water and my husband a beer. The bread was great, the starter, ok, a basic salad with two very thin small pieces of cheese and a handful of fatty lardons. No problem, we ate it we were hungry. My next course was appallingly bad. A thin white wine sauce, with yet another handful of lardons, and literally half a leg of chicken. I ate the couple of mouthful of chicken and turned to the basically char burnt and hard chips. Totally inedible. I complained to the disinterested (new) owner and pointed out the chips in my poor French. He smartly replied potato. And walked away. We decided to leave , we received our bill from the owner and my husband pointed out that my main course was not good, I was still hungry and that my food could not be eaten and neither could his chips. He offered to take the 4 euro beer off the bill. I said no, we would pay for my husbands meal, his beer, my starter, the bread but not the awful main course. He started to argue we said we would give him the money for the above and we then tried to leave., he physically pushed my husband raised his fists, I interjected before there was a two way fight , my husband was filming him basically going for me, but at least the man stopped. I guess he didn 't want to hit a woman in front of his other customers. He said he would call the police which he did. We sat and waited and the 'local ' police came along. The owner talked to the police outside the restaurant. My husband who speaks fluent French, tried to explain our position. The police only said we had to pay the whole bill and told my husband to delete the video of the owner attacking me. No discussion. Obviously we will not be going there again, and I trust that if you are thinking about it you might wish to consider your decision.
