Jalen's -b-q Grille - Folkston

I always enjoy the Boston Butt here, but it wasn't available tonight. I decided to try the plate of ribs instead. The spices and smoky flavor were excellent, but the ribs were a bit tough. I liked them overall, but they really need to be cooked longer so that the meat falls off the bone.

We were looking to play some golf and decided to try something different by stopping for some barbecue, and I'm pleased to say it exceeded our expectations! I’m always cold here, but it used to be a good place. However, today the BBQ sandwiches were very tender but overly greasy, and the French fries were just reheated.

I've never been to Folkston, Ga. When I came by this place, I knew I wanted to eat there. When we looked online, everything around the city closed for dinner everywhere at 8 a.m. It was 730 and we didn't want to be these people. Jalen 's was open til 9, score!! The whole food was delicious and had this beautiful homemade taste!! The staff was very friendly and we would definitely return! If u dont know that the little mother and pop places have the best barbeque, then you need to get out of these big business chains and try some!

This place is absolutely amazing!!! The food is like going back home and eating at grandmas on the holidays! And the service is awesome! Very kind!!!! I am a reg from now on!!!!
