Bidra med feedbackCasanik is located in the town of Foggia, Italy. We were hungry, tired and frustrated for a grey and rainy weather, the very opposite of what we had been looking for. We roamed and looked. Both hungry and tired we spotted the discrete and shiningly white entrance of Casanik. The outside motto was : white and wine. So we came in. Obviously, there was the language barrier, non of us speaking Italian at all, even though French, English and Spanish were available. Still, we came in, cheerfully welcomed, and quite gently oriented to a corner table where the entire restaurant was in sight. We could then take time to fully appreciate the entire decorum of the place where murals featured cooking tools and leitmotiv all withered into the white, sand and wood chromatic realm. Up high, facing the entrance, the marvelous and so generous sentence : tutto cio che viene dalla mia cucina... È cresciuto nel mio cuore... was clearly stating the philosophy of the place. All tables were adorned with delicate flowers of white, accordingly to the chairs and tables. Everywhere, bottles of countless different wines are decorating the walls, light bulbs are cleverly hidden behind cute lampshades made of various house utensils. And flowers hanging from the ceiling, in all purple, white and green shades. Then came in the menus. The refined Italian pasta and the incomparable antipasti. We vultured upon a surprising timbale de zucchini and a challenging caprese con mozzarella di bufala e olive . Both were headshots. Then came the casereccia casio e pepe con crema di tartufo estivo . Exploding in taste and strength. Fantastically leveraged by a powerful white truffle and a delicately cooked pasta. Finally, a semifreddo al croccantino and a coffe, a ristretto to be honest as a coffee lover I am. So on and on, the price helping us to completely relax and enjoy, that indeed was a perfect moment. Thanks.
We were warmly hosted by the lovely staff of Casanik. Delicious food and they were able to accommodate my celiac husband. Even made him a GF bruschetta! The decor is French shabby chic but the food is definitely Italian. It's located in an old building with exposed brick walls and ceilings. Really nice setting and not too expensive. Would highly recommend :
