Bidra med feedbackStopped in for a quick lunch. A big confusing because they share a space with the yogurt place. I had a chili cheese hot dog pickle spear. it was ok, would have preferred a grilled/fried dog (vs steamed but it was tasty. Fries were super yummy though a bit salty. They had a lot of dog options build your own as well as a variety of sides (the place smelled like cheese curds! Worth a stop for a quick bite!
We got overpriced hotdogs here. I didn't like them. I much rather go to a gas station and buy their hotdogs there. It's pretty much 10x better. This place also serves froyo. I didn't try any so I can't comment on it. The interior did have some unique decorations. I wouldn't recommend this place for wieners.
Well I'm a fan of the mystery meat that's shaped like a tube, and the Dog Haus has them. They really cater to more of the speciality type hot dogs. It was lunch time and got the 2 speciality hot dog lunch special, that includes a small fries and soda. I feasted on a Chicago and,an Atlanta dog, which I thought were quite tasty. They use Vienna beef brand mystery meat so you know you can't go wrong! The fries were hot and tasty also. The Dog House also serves a few sandwiches. The establishment is combined with the frozen yogurt shop that was previously there. I don't remember the yogurt shop name, I don't eat that ****, Sorry. The place was clean and rather new.I overheard they recently just opened. The only issue I had was everyone that was going in to eat was extremely obese, if that bums you out for any reasons then Beware!
When done correctly, the food of the Windy City can be down right delicious. Chicago dogs and Italian Beef sandwiches are some tasty fare. Unfortunately the Dogg Haus hasn't quite got it right. I think there is definitely an identity crisis going on here. The place is part Dogg Haus and part frozen yogurt shop. You gotta just pick one and run with it. It was really odd and the poor girl running the place that day seemed rather unprepared. No blaming her, I'm sure she can sell the hell out of that Frogurt, but Chicago Dogs and Sammiches seemed like a stretch. Alright, I didn't try the hot dogs, but I did get the Italian Beef with hot peppers, dipped. I'm usually not one to complain about salt content, as seen by my long list of hypertensive meds, but this one was ridiculous. The juice/sandwich was so beyond salty it damn near made me shrivel up and blow away. I needed an IV of Gatorade the rest of the day. The meat looked authentic but was rather dry (over salting tends to do that). Even if salt content was kept in check, this sandwich just wouldn't be anything I'd return for. Maybe they just need to get on their feet a bit more. However, I'm just not seeing this double concept place as the right direction to go in. But I'm sure the Frogurt is good...
I went around lunch time and luckily not many people were there. I agree 2 different businesses in one spot doesn't make sense. I liked the bright spot and the seating is perfect, nice high seating along the wall was comfortable. The surfboard style tables were cool. I just got a hotdog with kraut, $4. I haven't had that combo in ages, but I recall the kraut being heated. Why make a hotdog colder? It would be nice if condiments were on the tables. I'd go if I wanted something quick.
