Bidra med feedbackRon's has been around for a good long while and does a steady business. Especially at lunch. So clearly they have a good following and make solid quality food in a casual but festive atmosphere. My personal preference, having lived in Hawaii might be a bit difference. I liked the Huli chicken ok but it wasn't my favorite. The flavor was a bit flat and mostly just salty. The rice was long grain and fluffy, like Indian rice so it didn't stick together like traditional Asian rice. The Mac salad was on point. I might try one of their other dishes to see if it's just that sauce that's not a knock out.
Ron's Island Grill actually does feel a little Hawaiian. You walk in and there are Resin coated picnic benches and tables. The floors are clean and the tropical plants and tiki lights along with bamboo blinds complete the feel. The lighting is good and the service is very polite and friendly. The establishment as a whole is very clean and theme oriented. I saw the Yakisoba Chicken Special and opted for that instead of a steamed rice dish. Everything is served in to-go containers whether you dine in or not. When mine arrived, I opened the container and was hit by the aroma and steam. It looked and smelled great. The fries were very hot and fresh and came in a paper bag. The veggies were fresh and crisp. The sauce has a very light flavor and the noodles were cooked well. On the downside though, the chicken was a bit on the dry side and the noodles were still absorbing moisture and drying out. I think a heavier hand with the sauce could have helped. However, the flavors were very good and the portion was large enough to bring home leftovers. I splashed a bit of moisture on the leftovers and reheated them in a covered saucepan at home and it was still very good. Other than the chicken being a bit overcooked and dry, it was still pretty good. We went there to meet some friends, so we were there for a couple of hours. One thing that struck me during that time is that there was a lot of customers coming and going, picking up orders. The place is busy but not crowded. All in all, it was reminiscent of a beachfront cafe in Hawaii.
First of all there chicken is super dry and teriyaki is mid rice is bleh and workers always on call
Rons island grill is a staple! Fresh ingredients and great flavor! I especially appreciate the lower carb options they've added over the years.
Can't really go wrong with Yakisoba. The noodles were good, the chicken was kinda overcooked and a little dry. Overall it wasn't bad. The service was good though.
