Bidra med feedbackWhile there are still several options in Toronto/GTA for people from the Balkan region looking for a taste of home, the options are really lacking compared to what we had 10+ years ago. There are some quite expensive, merely not bad , options, but nothing I can think of that stands out. Except Mraković. I first visited here about 10 years ago, and recall not being blown away. Let 's chock it up to it being an off day, or just faulty memory on my behalf. A few months back, I decided to revisit the IYKYK Etobicoke institution after hearing lots of praise for it lately from various sources. This time around I ended up falling deeply in love with the classic Balkan delicacies on board, and would become a weekly/bi weekly patron moving forward. I 've not had it all, but the things that are superlative iterations of their respective selves are: the čevapi (with the lepinja of course , the sać, and goulash. I 've always preferred Serbian style čevaps, which prominently feature pork (and, to my tastebuds, slightly altered seasoning levels maybe more salt heavy , but I haven 't found myself at all missing the pig at Mraković with their succulent, perfectly cooked, meat cylinders. Absolutely top notch čevapi, potentially the best in the city at current. That is a must on any visit, but so is the sać, which is simply seasoned, but profoundly flavourful. For those unfamiliar, sać is a simplified umbrella term for things cooked under a large (steel? bell , where everything is left in one vessel to cook and absorb the others juices. It 's a deceptively simple dish, but one not to be missed under any circumstance Mraković 's veal sać in particular is just heaven on a plate, my gosh! The goulash is also absolutely fantastic. Actually, my lone criticism is regarding the burek, which is not my favourite is it filled with cottage cheese vs. feta which I 'm used to and prefer? Few times I 've had it, I felt it could 've been baked a few minutes more tasted a bit raw , but that 's my only complaint to speak of. Okay, and maybe how cramped it is in there! Other than that, I always greatly look forward to visits here. Highly recommended!
The Turkish coffee and the burek were an amazing combination. It was also my first time to have burek, and I thought it tasted delicious. If you would find yourself in Etobicoke, this bakery is worth a visit!
Such a unique, cozy spot in the middle of nowhere. The chevapi was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Ordered some products online for delivery to Saskatchewan. Didn't expect much to be honest.But everything arrived fast and everything was fresh.I'll be ordering again soon.
If you haven’t tried the chevapi here… you simply need to! The food is seriously delicious ? and the employees super helpful. Def a hidden gem!
