I've been going there for many, many years. Even after moving away from El Segundo, I stop by this place for my favorite Indian food whenever I'm nearby. Today is the first time I've been disappointed. The place reeked of cigarette smoke, like someone was smoking in their tiny kitchen or right out back. It was nauseating. The only person I saw working was super grumpy and barely said a word to me.The food tasted good. It always does. But one of the great things about chicken tikka masala is that rich delicious sauce that you dip your naan into and my bowl had very little. Not enough to dip a corner of the bread! The chicken portion was generous but also very, very dry. So the dish was begging for more sauce. Also, I kept crunching on big hunks of spice like star anise or cloves it's a pretty potent and unpleasant thing to bite into. Next time I'm in the area, I'm not sure Indian Summer will be one of my stops. They seem to be going downhill... certainly very far from the days of tablecloths and outstanding service when they were on the other side of town.
