Bidra med feedbackWe are vegetarians and face him, this kind of Mexican food is meat based. But the owner made us a mushroom and cheese quesadilla that was just delicious.
I could try 1 breakfast and 1 snack and both were very good and the price was quite economical. There was a music festival, so every time I tried to try something else again, there was a line up. My food was cooked at home traditionally and tastefully. The staff/owners were friendly and the place was clean. I just wish I could have tried more, but judging from the line up. It's hard to see her sign because of the Palapas overhang, but they're on the main road that goes down to the beach right next to an fruit and grocery store at the corner.
Cony makes everything from scratch. Try the chicken mole quesadillas. They are big and filling so you might want to share (or not! . This place is the real deal. They are open late at night, too.
If you are reviewing high quality food alone, Anjitos Jade de Dona Cony is the hands down winner in Chacala! Cony and her husband serve fresh, spicy and authentic Mexican. No Tex mex here! Menu is small and written on the wall....for us Gringos who do not know in the.... Supplements such as onions, Zilantro, salsa are self-served in salad bar style. Our Spanish is a bit pathetic, but on a busy Sunday morning they helped us with the order. You can't go wrong. Freshest tortillas, taquitos and Quesadillas cooked BBQ style. Delicious! We've been in Chacala for a week and eat on tour guides in every restaurant. The others have more reviews therefore the higher spots on the list. most are on the beach with great views. Dona Cony is all about eating and none of the others compare. It is located above the street from the beach of the guy selling fresh juice and smoothies. The town is small... it's not hard to find. We have visited 3 mornings (they were closed for 2 others) and will definitely be there for our last two! My only disappointment is that Spanish is not good enough to find out all the fantastic “off menu”items it also does. They are currently open 7-4. Ps I never post reviews, love really quality food and am an adventurous cook. Cony's food is so good!
This place is a must for every visit to Chacala. The most friendly staff makes the best mole and any other type of Quesadilla they have the ingredients for. The Mole is not on the menu so you need to ask for it, but all menu items are freshly prepared and ordered. A real find and great value for the quality of simply prepared authentic Mexican foods. Here 4 times at our 10-day visit to the city.
