Poor Red's BBQ - El Cajon

At first when we looked at the menu we thought it was a little pricey but then when we received our food it was well worth what we spent on our food the only thing that I could say was lacking there was it took quite a while for the waitress to get us ourdrinks and I don't feel she was as intentive as she should have been as a waitress other than that the food was amazing!

I?ve heard a lot about Poor Reds, and had to try it. It was definitely worth the hype. We went on a Friday evening and although they were busy, we didn?t wait long. We sat inside with a view of the patio and the bar, which was entertaining. The goldCadillac is a must try. I loved it. We ordered the loaded potato skins with shredded pork, which were good, crispy potato skinsand lots of cheese. I did request more of their delicious sauce. My friends ordered the ribs and those were falling off the bonetender. Although my boyfriend used to go there a lot back in the day when Red actually owned it, and he thought it wasn?t nearlyas good as before, I had a great time and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. It?s a great local dive with good food, gooddrinks and a good atmosphere.

Waited all summer to go and it was so-so. Some of the younger staff seemed to be all over the place like they where at a personal party being overly loud. The wings where not very warm and there were several dead flies on the windowsill. Other thenthat it was a cute place the bar area was pretty crowded and the potato skins were really good

Good ???? food and great ???? drinks ???? !! Excellent customer service at all times. Location Is also unique as they have been around for a long while and holding true to local traditions. They need to add Elena?s Tequila Sunset ???? to the drink???? menu. Definitely coming back?

We were visiting family in the area and they recommended Poor Reds BBQ for lunch of course, after we tasted wine and ate chocolates at Annabelle's across the street. At Poor Reds BBQ (very dog friendly) you can expect excellent service, heartyportions and some of the best barbecue you've ever had. DO NOT miss having their signature drink The Gold Cadillac. I startedwith that then went to a nice glass of Cabernet to go along with my steak. Delicious!!
