Bidra med feedbackI needed a good restaurant that was reasonably priced. The reviews on Back Home said it was what I was looking for. I wasn't disappointed. It's nothing fancy, but the food was excellent, the service prompt and efficient, and the price on budget. I had the Small Fish & Chips. 3 good sized pieces of nicely battered, flaky haddock and a huge mound of hot, unsalted chips, all for $19.95. I could hardly eat it all! The only suggestion I have is a meal of 2 pieces of fish, chips, and coleslaw or mushy peas, for about the same price. Next time I'm in Edmonton, I'll be back! And maybe I'll ask for a side instead of the third piece of fish.
Ive only been here once, but the experience for me, was a very good one. There was myself and my friend, we went on a Thursday evening for dinner. To our delight, we were told Thurs was 2 dine for 24.99. The meal consisted of beverage, main course and desert. I loved the meal, couldn't do the desert, to full. I would recommend a person trying this cute restaurant, very homey. Ive been wanting to go back since the first time.
Ive only been once, have been trying since then to get back. I cant say enough about the fish, homade fries and coleslaw. Everything was delicious. When we went, it was a Thurs, the dinner special was 2 dine for the price of $24.99, including beverage, meal and desert, I big savings. I recommend this to anyone.
We were undecided what to eat so we decided take out order from our favourite fish eatry. My wife have in the past dined several times the BACK Home Fish and Chips place for supper.Service is always friendly and fast. Food is GREAT. Price is reasonable.
I was SO looking forward to fresh crisp fish and chips at a restaurant that specializes in these favorites of mine. Instead, I received limp greasy fish , and so-so fries , the latter tasting like the days old fish oil. What a pity. It's actually a really cherry attractive venue , airy, checkered table cloths, comfy booths and great service. But how long has it been since the owner has eaten here I wondered? Does he know what's coming out of his kitchen these days for guests? The fish itself was actually of good quality I could tell, but leaving the restaurant with a genuine bad taste in my mouth, I was forced to retreat to a neighbouring tea house for some Golden Oolong and apple pie. Then I went back home. It's not often that I have to give an Edmonton eating establishment a poor review, but unfortunately this one earned it. Seeing that other diners have had better luck at Back Home than myself, I'm hoping that this Tuesdays meal will not greet future diners, and it was an off night.
