Chao Kong WAS an excellent restaurant UNTIL the new boss took over in Oct 2017. The food quality is now horrible and tossed with MSG. Customer service has dropped to the new low as the boss has a huge big-man ego who possesses no respect and regard for customers or hygiene of the premises My friends and I had ordered at the restaurant and was waiting for our food to arrive when we spotted a few tiny cockroaches crawling in the dining cubicles area. We went there today And they gave us a **** **** service ever We walked in and we asked for table for two The staff asked us to wait for a bit Meanwhile, they had a lot of available table to sit in But they didn't let hd to sit in though We have been waiting for at least 5 mins And we were asked to sit in a small table with tiny seats We think this is uncomfortable to sit to have dinner Then we asked for switching a larger table (Since we saw there's a couple were siting in this tiny table also, and they switched to a larger table) (hence, I think we can also ask to switch to a lager table since there are more spare lager table in the restaurant The staff was rejected us to...read more

Ah the MSG was killing me by the end. It's always good for a few bites, then I start struggling Service was extremely slow, i.e. we had to ask three times for the same thing to actually receive it. As expected, they can't understand you if you speak english, and have to go get someone else We ordered a veg hot pot (saltiest), wonton noodle soup (which seemed alright), and low hon vegetable fried noodle. They use egg noodles for the fried noodles, but they were happy to change to rice noodles when requested. Also asked for mine without oyster sauce (veganized) and it was still tasty. Peppered pork tripe soup with rice set lunch. Enough said Except bout the waitress having difficulty caring enough to bring a fork for our 5 year old (despite us asking nicely twice)... still worth the sub service. Yum.

I ordered online with a few notes. are completely ignored and wrong things that were given to me. the telephone line can never be reached.
