Bidra med feedbackThis pub used to be great for watching sports matches, but unfortunately it is no longer open. I visited a couple months ago and noticed that they have made some efforts to update the place, but it seems like they are struggling to attract customers, possibly due to changes in the demographics of the area.
The Alfred is a cozy, rustic neighbourhood pub in the residential area of Burton-on-Trent (when you're leaving the station, turn left over the railway bridge, then right into Derby Street), and certainly a great option in this part of the town. The beers served are by Burton Bridge, a local brewery, and there are guest ales, too. The Alfred offers a small pub food menu each for lunchtime and dinner, of which I picked the ploughmen's board (available in small and large) at a very competitive price. It was tasty and freshly made. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is just nice. Recommended!
Had another lovely evening at the Alfred ale house with the added bonus of food now.. we had the fish and chips most delicious indeed with a lovely bottle of merlot. Will deffo be back
Visited yesterday evening with a group of friends and had a fantastic tasty meal. The new menu is very good value for money. I had Bridge Beer battered fish and chips which was very tasty. They had options for vegans and a good selection of food in general. The beer and gin was very good with a fabulous selection. Very impressed!
We held a 30th birthday party here andnthe landlady was very helpful and accommodating. All our questions in the run up to the party were answered promptly and we were able to go in and set up in plenty of time. On the evening the staff were busy and kept on top of everything well with a warm friendly welcome to all our guests. Thank you for making our friend's evening a memorable one.
